Predicting citrus greening disease

As part of my graduate work, I worked on a project to predict citrus greening disease (huanglongbing) based on the starch content in leaves.Citrus greening disease (huanglongbing) affects many parts of citrus trees and has devastating consequences for industry. To what extent can starch content in citrus leaves be used to predict if a tree is infected with huanglongbing?
